Liv Counsel is a JD candidate at Seattle University School of Law with a background in nursing, public health, and community advocacy. They come to law school after nearly two decades of work in reproductive justice, disability advocacy, and public health, including roles as a full-spectrum doula, community educator, and policy advisor. Liv’s approach to advocacy is shaped by lived experience as a disabled, neurodivergent parent in a semi-rural community, and by years of grassroots organizing at the intersections of care, access, and justice.
They currently serve on PCORI’s Health Disparities panel, the Kitsap County Health Equity Collaborative, and the Health Law Committee of The American Association of Nurse Attorneys (TAANA). Liv is also a 2025 John R. Lewis Fellow and Coelho Law Fellow. At NDLSA, they are committed to growing cross-movement infrastructure and supporting law students in building powerful, sustainable practices of disability justice within and beyond legal spaces.
